Collection: White Chinese Wine

White wines are starting to gain traction in China, in particular the more trend setting first tier cities.  Popular varieties include Chardonnay, Riesling, Italian Riesling, Ugni Blanc, and also ‘native’ varieties such as Longyan (Dragon Eye).

The first modern European dry style white wine from China was made by the Great Wall Winery in Hebei province, using the ‘Dragon Eye’ grape in 1978, to coincide with the country’s Reform and Opening up initiative.
