Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot

The wine undergoes a 4-5 day cold maceration, followed by 15-20 days of fermentation in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Malolactic fermentation occurs in oak barrels, and the wine is aged for 16-18 months in 100% French oak barrels, enhancing its structure and imparting nuances.

Tasting notes

A deep ruby hue precedes aromas of ripe red and black plums and bramble, complemented by savoury herbaceous notes of sage and green bell pepper.
Subtle hints of toast, smoke, clove, and vanilla from oak aging add complexity.
The full-bodied palate is supported by abundant, fine-grained tannins, balanced acidity, and well-integrated alcohol, leading to a long, graceful finish.

About this wine/region/producer

Most of China’s vineyards lie just north of the Yangtze river. Around 80 per cent of China’s wine growers overall are dedicated to bordeaux-style red wines, and cabernet sauvignon is the predominant grape (China has the largest planting area of cabernet sauvignon vines in the world). You’ll also find pinot noir, muscat hamburg, and grape crossbreeds – made when growers deliberately cross two grape species – such as marselan, a blend of cabernet sauvignon and grenache.
