Kannan Winery 迦南美地酒庄

Kanaan Winery is one of the most celebrated and pioneering wineries in China. It sits at the foothills of the Helan Mountains in Ningxia, around 1,000 kilometres west of Beijing. The name “Kanaan,” meaning the land of milk and honey, reflects an aspiration for Ningxia to emerge as one of China’s premier fine wine regions. The horses featured on the label pay homage to the Helan Mountains, as helan is associated with horses in ancient local language.

Founded in 2011 by Fang Wang, the winery builds on a deep local legacy—her father, Wang Feng Yu, was a pioneering viticulturist in Ningxia. Nicknamed “Crazy Fang,” she earned the moniker for her bold decision to take on the challenge of growing Riesling in Ningxia. Fang spent 12 years living abroad, including a formative period in Germany, where she developed a lasting passion for Riesling.
